Class of 2026 Graduation Information

Congratulations Class of 2026!!!

Below is all of the information you need to know about the Commencement Ceremony

  • Caps & Gowns have been delivered to AOS.  We will give them to students at rehearsal, the day of graduation.
  • For those of you who are still finishing credits, your last day of school is Wednesday, June 3rd. EVERYTHING has to be complete by 3:30 pm on Thursday, June 4th to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 5th.
  • If you want to participate in the elementary/middle school walks, there is a sign-in sheet for that.  Please name the specific school you went to and would like to walk at so we can get you that information.

Senior Awards and Senior BBQ (at AOS):

  • Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:55 am
  • Seniors will be recognized with awards and scholarships during the Senior Awards Assembly, with a BBQ to follow for graduating seniors/juniors and current students. Guests are invited to attend the Awards Assembly, but the BBQ is for students and graduates only. Due to limited space, please limit guests to 2 per graduate.

Graduation Rehearsal (at Albany Performing Arts Center):

Friday, June 5th arrive at 10:50 am (rehearsal starts at 11)

This is MANDATORY if you plan on walking. If you do not attend the rehearsal, you will not be allowed to walk in the ceremony. Students have been excluded from the ceremony because they did not attend rehearsal! The rehearsal will be held at The Albany Performing Arts Center at West Albany High School. Please note that no drinks are allowed in the theater other than a closed water bottle.

Graduation Ceremony (at Albany Performing Arts Center):

Friday, June 5th arrive at 6:15 pm (ceremony starts at 7)

  • Doors open for families at 6:30 pm.
  • Graduation will be in the Albany Performing Arts Center at West Albany High School. Graduates are to meet in the WAHS front lobby at 6:15 pm in cap and gown and ready to go. We will take the official class photo at that time. We will not have time for you to get ready at WAHS prior to graduation. 
  • Students are not permitted to decorate their caps for AOS graduation. Please also refrain from bringing any bags into WAHS, because there will not be a designated space to leave them during the ceremony. If you do need to bring a bag, please leave it with family or friends in the audience during the ceremony. Be sure to update us regularly with any changes to contact information so that you receive any updates to this information.
  • Tickets are not required to attend graduation and there is not a limit on guests you can invite.

Live Streaming:

Live streaming of the graduation ceremony will be available in both English and Spanish on YouTube. Links for both English and Spanish will be made available closer to the date of graduation.

Photos:

There will be a professional photographer at graduation to capture the graduates as they receive their diplomas. These photos will be available for purchase and download after the ceremony. 

 

Lastly, our graduates have worked incredibly hard towards this major accomplishment. We ask that our guests honor this by showing respect and courtesy towards everyone in attendance. Please be mindful that this is a school event and a family occasion. We ask that you silence your cell phones and remain seated for the duration of the ceremony.
